You don't say if you tried to uninstall and reinstall using Fiery Software Manager (FSM) already on that IC-306's system tray.
I did an update a whie back and as always my computer told me to restart. After it did it told me again that I needed to restart. On the restart screen are any details or reasons why a restart is needed shown ? Without more details it's impossible to give you advice on what to do.
If you don't click anything for 60 seconds, OS X automatically continues as if you had clicked Open.
I used the Fiery Software Manager to update the IC-306 to CWS 220.127.116.11i, but after the installation comes the reboot, and as soon as the Windows desktop appears, I get the following pop-up error: "The computer must be restarted before updating can continue. " This is happening persistently with every restart. Now, select all items you want (re)installed, wait for install, and Restart After this is done on that Fiery, does it still insist on restarting every time?
If you believe the issue may have been caused by one of the apps that you were using, click Cancel instead. To help avoid kernel panics, install all available software updates until Software Update reports, "Your software is up to date." OS X updates help your Mac handle the kinds of issues that can cause kernel panics, such as malformed network packets, or third party software issues. For most kernel panics, updating your software is all you have to do.You should change settings for Windows 8 to turn off "hidden" hibernation (read manual/msdn about this Windows 8 feature), and shut down will work as expected.I was able to produce this behavior when I performed a "Shut down" and then a subsequent power on.
